This is a review on the Fairy Drops Scandal Queen Black Mascara. Fairy Drops is a Japanese brand, and you can find their mascaras at Sephora. It retails for $24 at Sephora, and what's different about this product is the brush. It's a unique brush patented in Japan, and it's curved with a few grooves.
The first time I used this mascara, I was satisfied with the product, but I wasn't totally convinced. It didn't really do anything different from my L'Oreal Voluminous mascara, and it actually was a bit clumpy on my lashes. It's a pretty thick formula, and you definitely need to be careful with this because it's water and sweat proof. If you accidentally get it on your lids, you need make up remover to completely remove it! It is also blended with fibers, so your lashes really do lengthen quite a lot. However, most mascaras do that already for me.
The only problem I have with this product is that after the first use, it just got more and more clumpy. I haven't even owned this for over a month, and it started to clump in the tube too. It left my lashes clumpy and very unnatural. I just felt like though the formula is very black indeed, it just does not glide on smoothly, and it doesn't have a natural look to it. The formula is way too thick, and it almost feels like it's drying out. For such an expensive mascara, I really was expecting a better quality mascara. I don't feel like the unique brush did anything special for my lashes. It's not a surprise that I will not be repurchasing this. This also confirms my theory that drugstore mascaras are the way to go! Save your $$ for drugstore mascaras!
