It's no surprise that I like to use Asian beauty products. I am, in fact, Asian. Although it makes perfect sense for me to prefer Asian beauty products over American brands, it's not always the case. Whether it's skincare or make up, you won't know if it works for you until you try it. I have a few posts on these already, but I'd like to start a series on Asian Beauty Product Reviews. In general, I've found that Asian beauty products have cuter packaging, but the quality is not what you expect from the prices. For example, I've used quite a few mascaras from Watson's in Taiwan (compared to CVS here), and their qualities are not as good as L'Oreal or Maybelline mascaras. Moreover, they're more expensive that drugstore mascaras too!
Now, onto the actual review of today's product: Kiss Me Heroine Make Mascara Remover. I was introduced to the Japanese brand, Kiss Me Heroine Make, a few years ago while shopping in Taiwan. They're a popular brand for eye products such as mascaras and eyeliners. I tried their pencil eyeliner before and hated it. That's when I decided I was never going to purchase anything from that brand again until, a youtube guru (of COURSE this is how the story goes) recommended their mascara remover. I've never seen such a product before, and I've always lost a few eyelashes from rubbing my make up remover so I figured it wouldn't hurt to try this product. Plus, IT'S PINK!

Just from the packaging, you can see the cute details on the tube and who wouldn't want a pink mascara tube among all those black ones for mascaras? It retails for ~$13 US Dollars, and you can pretty much find it at most Asian beauty stores or Japanese markets such as Mitzuwa or Nijiya.
Directions: Like a mascara, sweep it along your eyelashes without touching the roots, and leave it on for a few minutes. It's an oil based mascara, and when I first used it, my eyes stung a bit because I was too close to my actual eye. Then, I use my regular make up removing process (Make Up Forever Eye Makeup Remover) and rub some remover on my eyes and face. After about 30 seconds, I use a cotton pad to wipe off all my eye make up.
It's very gentle and immediately you can see all the color come off your lashes. I think the only negative is that it's a whole separate process you need to add to your routine. Many girls, including me, are tired at the end of the day and just want to rid yourself of all that makeup ASAP, and using this product just increases the steps. When I first got this, I kept forgetting to use it because it's just not natural to take your mascara off separately. However, it definitely works and I've made it a habit now, so go out and pick this up!! You won't regret losing fewer lashes!
