Asian Beauty Product Review: Rave!

During my last trip to Taiwan, I was on the hunt for mainly two items: the Dior Snow sunblock that I reviewed in a previous post and this Shu Uemura UV Under Base Mousse Primer. It's essentially a foundation primer that comes in a metal bottle like this and has a mousse texture. It comes out in a foam and once you apply it, it just evens and smooths our your complexion.

A lot of people don't find the need to use face primer, but it's really just like an eye primer. If you need your make up to last all day, then a primer definitely helps. It evens our your skin to make foundation look that much better. Your make up lasts all day, even when you sweat, and for me, it has really helped with my skin tone. I have some red spots on my forehead and my cheeks, but this helps keep those spots afar. At the end of the day, it just makes your make up look better, and I'm certainly not complaining!

I personally really like the mousse texture because I feel like it doesn't linger on my face and really gets absorbed quickly. I also feel like it really does even my skin out quite a lot and gets is ready for my foundation. It has sort of a mattify-ing effect, in which I can tell my skin is less oily at the end of the day. However, I was afraid that it would clog my pores because of this, but I haven't had much of a problem since I began using this product about six months ago.

Another plus is the SPF 30 PA+++, which is an additional layer of sunblock that reassures my protection against the sun. This product retails for $35 in the US, and I bought it on the airplane as a Duty Free product.
